Lavender Harvest
I grew this variety from seeds sown in Spring 2012. This year the plants bloomed -- and most important, attracted the bees -- from May through September.

I grew this variety from seeds sown in Spring 2012. This year the plants bloomed -- and most important, attracted the bees -- from May through September.
My favourite variety of my favourite herb, started from seed last year, grown in pots on the balcony for a few months, then transferred to my community garden plot to overwinter and bloom -- I'd hoped -- sometime in June.
It did.
On the first day of
summer last week I cut half the flower stalks for drying. (I left the other half for the bees.)
A dream come true: a little bit of Provence in a section of my garden.
