Sunflowers in the Haze
This past Saturday’s morning walking route & destination: over the bridge and a short way along Hope River Road to the sunflower field.
Sunflowers in the hazy air soothe smoke-weary eyes.
Plenty of pollinator activity, too — another sight to lift the spirits.
Under Smoky Skies
Walking familiar paths,
seeking comfort from nature,
finding sunshine in the hedging cedars.
Today I am grateful for the persistence of sunflowers.
Sunflowers
Every August for the past few years I have walked to the farmer’s field at the corner of Hope River and McSween Roads and photographed the sunflowers. Here is the 2020 edition of the series, a summer when, more than even, we’ve needed sunshine in all its forms to lift our spirits.
Sunflower Season: The Beginning
Beyond the bridge, at the corner of Hope River Road, there is sunshine, farmland, and some very big flowers.
