Lovely Lupins

May 27, 2013 by Elaine

It wasn't that much of a stretch to sign up for the David Suzuki Foundation's 30 x 30 Nature Challenge. A daily dose of green, fun, and healthy? Bring it on!

Besides caring for the fauna and flora in my own home -- a daily, happy-making commitment  because of Piper and the balcony garden -- I've tried to be in nature mindfully for at least 30 minutes every day in May.

On the first evening, while walking with Piper along the seawall,  I had a close encounter with Lupinus polyphyllus at Habitat Island. If the ground hadn't been so boggy and mucky, I would have planted myself down, supine, and "imbide[d] delight through every pore. " Instead, during a golden half-hour I viewed flowers and sky through the camera's lens.

Bliss.
