On our latest urban hike, soft brown eyes and sunny ray-florets stopped me in my tracks.

These flowers (possibly a Rudbeckia species or cultivar) were glowing in a park at Coal Harbour where I admired them  en route to Stanley Park.

Truth be told, I much prefer Lucy's gold and yellows -- and her season, which is spring -- but on a dull October day, any bright colour in the landscape makes me happy.
