I’m repeating myself with this subject — and this particular long-lasting bouquet — but I do believe I could photograph these beautiful flowers a thousand different ways and never become bored. (Plus they’re an excellent opportunity for me to practice my composition skills.)
Anemones in the ground have not emerged yet, but they’ve arrived in pots at the local garden centre so I scooped up this pretty little thing for the balcony. Just one pot of pink will keep me satisfied until the ranunculus begin their blooming season.

an unexpected and graceful way to greet the New Year.
This is not an out-of-season post even though hydrangeas normally do not bloom in winter. I bought this elegant lace-cap just before Christmas. It now resides in the home of a dear friend and neighbour who will transplant it to her garden in the spring. I will remember this plant for many reasons but especially because not a single petal was damaged while it was stored in the trunk of my car during an unexpected tow home on Christmas Eve.
This is not simply a photograph of festive, artfully arranged greenery.
It is generosity, thoughtfulness, friendship, and the truest kind of beauty.
