Prunus 'Accolade'
Every spring I look forward to the flowering of the ‘Accolade’ cherry blossom trees in my neighbourhood. This March, the sakura season started early and has been long and floriferous.
Late afternoon light,
touches translucent petals —
many shades of pink.
A blue sky morning,
Clusters of cherry blossoms —
Early spring delights.
At the end of March,
soft pink clouds float in grey skies —
fair weather today.
Prunus subhirtella ‘Whitcomb’
Photographed on March 5, 2021. To my surprise and delight, the flower buds weren’t damaged by the week of severe, cold weather in mid February.
